The Greater Victoria Police Diversity Advisory Committee was established in 2002. The goal of the GVPDAC is to bring together members of the diverse communities and the police departments in the Greater Victoria area and to establish a method of communication with the aim of building and maintaining positive relationships.

The GVPDAC is comprised of a police officer from each of the four municipal police agencies; Central Saanich, Oak Bay, Saanich and Victoria, and the Sidney and West shore RCMP detachments, and civilians from the Greater Victoria Area.

We strive to create understanding, dialogue, communication, links and build bridges between the police AND the diverse communities in Great Victoria. GVPDAC members are committed to developing and maintaining relationships between diverse communities, police officers and police departments. The GVPDAC provides a direct link between the diverse communities and the local police agencies.
